Emily Wells

Emily Wells chases light along the most easterly edge of Canada. An undergrad student of biology and French in Newfoundland, she is passionate about environmental justice as she researches the effects of marine plastics using feminist science methods. Her research team builds technologies and monitors local country food for plastics. A confident nerd, she brews kombucha tea and ceaselessly writes haikus. “I simply adore learning and sharing fun facts with others, especially if they're fun facts about plants or obscure words - like defenestration”.

There’s something about this image that draws me in. The lighting is great and I want to stare at it, looking at every detail.
— Janetta Dancer - Art Manager
I like the attention to the theme, “nourish”. I’m seeing malnourished juxtaposed with nourished, in this striking image.
— Adam Snellings - Art Director
