Romane Bladou

Romane Bladou’s work focuses on the notion of territory and on the relationship between people, geography, and the structures that occupy. Through photography, she looks to document the nostalgic, cultural and sometimes emotional value of places.

“My photographs follow a typological model, they are often part of collections, of inventories composed of places … They tell us who we are by being where they are. My projects start from an element that I find curious or incongruous, leading to more geographic and contextual research that allows me to collect similar elements.”

I’m a sucker for nostalgia of the present. Attempting to preserve the imperfect, unique and emotionally connected places of our past which are still surviving to this day.
